Obesity is a worldwide problem these days. Unlike our
forefathers, we lead a much more sedentary lifestyle. With the arrival of mobile
phones and then social media, the situation has gone much worse, as most of us
are glued to the screen for most of the time. With almost everything available
on the internet, we don’t even have to move out of our homes, for buying stuff.
Whether its groceries, electronics, or food, everything is being home delivered
these days. This has led to an increased waistline on an average.
Now, if you wish to lose weight, then you cannot do away with
exercise. There are several benefits of regular work outs, and apart from
losing weight, it also helps in keeping you healthy. However there are certain
dietary changes that can help in weight loss. Apart from that, there are
certain types of ingredients, which you may add to your diets, which can help
you in losing weight faster and more efficiently. In this article I am going to
discuss these dietary changes that can help you lose weight.
1 Drink lots of water:
Water can be a very effective tool in cutting the flab. It increases
your metabolism, flushes out the toxins from your body and also absorbs heat
from your body, thereby making the body burn more calories. Drinking one to two
glasses of water half an hour before meals can be very effective in weight
loss.
2 Increase your intake of citrus fruits:
Citrus fruits like lemon and oranges are very effective in
cutting down on the fat. A glass of lemonade will not only refresh you, but
would also help in losing weight. Plus, it also boosts your immunity as they
are rich in antioxidants.
3 Mushrooms:
Mushrooms are a super food which can be very effective in
losing weight. Loaded with over a dozen vitamins and minerals such as copper,
magnesium, potassium, and zinc as well as B vitamins, they also score low in
fat, are cholesterol-free and have modest fiber content. However what makes
them really special is the high content of antioxidants such as glutathione and
selenium. All these factors help in boosting immunity, improving metabolism and
of course losing weight.
4 Smaller more frequent meals:
Another dietary change suggested by many dietitians is that
instead of having three larges meals it is better to go for six smaller meals
at regular intervals. This would help you keep full and the urge to eat lowers.
However smaller meals doesn’t mean snacking. Eat healthy foods.
5 Add lots of fruits and veggies:
Make sure you have lots of fruits and green vegetables in
your diet. They are rich in fiber, low in calories and consequently help in
controlling weight. Also most fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants,
which help in boosting immunity.
6 Avoid junk foods and carbonated drinks:
One of the best things to do in order to lose weight, is to
stay away from junk foods, as they are usually rich in saturated fats. Also staying
away from carbonated drinks would be a great idea as well. Replace them with
fruit juices and other healthy beverages.
Overall a healthy lifestyle is a perfect combination of
regular exercise and proper diet. But it is difficult to make healthy choices
in our unhealthy lifestyles. However, where there is will, there is a way. Make sure you don’t lose your FIGHT AGAINST
FAT.
